Christmas day! we decided to go to Pompeii, which needed a trip to Naples, from which we catch a regional train towards Pompeii

On the metro towards Roma Termini

Naples here we come
To our horror, and contrary to all our separate internet research, POMPEII WAS CLOSED. oh the horror. and it was christmas day too so a lot of things wont be open. Thankfully, an interesting museum for PC was open till 2pm, so we headed there. It was the Archaeological Museum lol. We figured we stay in Naples anyway since it was a nice 2 hour train ride away

Naples streets

the National Archeological Museum in Naples, and some exhibits

streets of Naples

we found this nice cafe that sold cute nibbles, snacks and stuff. this was panini mignon
and rather than waste the day, we decided to visit the Colosseum’s outside at night, as well as Trevi fountain since PC hasn’t gone yet

the majestic exterior of the Colosseum. it was brightly lit too!

the Roman forums across the Colosseum

Area Sacra - this was where Julius Caesar was apparently assassinated.

et tu Brute happened at this site
Then it was for some nice Italian dinner at a place that didnt look too convincing, but food turned out to not be half bad :)

then finally - Trevi Fountain to end the night!
