last day in Europe :(
walking around Frankfurt, we saw this demolition project going on
Goethestraße - where the shopping is at. ok, probably mostly expensive shopping..
a cool shopping mall! look it at, with a hole!
there was a Lego store - with a 3D viewer of what the models of each box would be like! amazing!
the inside of the cool shopping mall with the hole!
last try of currywurst in Germany. Not as good as Berlin’s :(
goodbye Frankfurt HBF! After 5 years, I have returned in 2011. Hope to return again soon!
Frankfurt airport. Bye Europe! :(
You have been so nice to us!
since JG heard all about our cool Berlin stories, and that Berlin was the place to be from other people, we decided it was wise to make sure she sees a bit of Berlin - day trip from Frankfurt it is!
first stop was Brandenberg Tor, since it is close to Berlin HBF
good bye sunny and warm spain, hello chilly Germany! First stop - Frankfurt!
via Basel, Switzerland
the massive Euro! there was an Occupy movement to the left of this shot. you can sorta see some of it there already
Main river in Frankfurt
the Deutsches filmmuseum was next on the agenda!
sandman inside the museum!
amazing 3d from paper!
that would be pretty hard to make, surely!
and this, even harder?!
mein fuhrer’s mask
the different faces of Jack Skellington!
dont fall off!
main river at sunset =D
no parking on the river guys
YUM MCRIBS! we have been reunited after 5 years apart!
currywurst in frankfurt, just to make sure that JG has had a go. not as good as the Berlin on but not too far off :)
döner kebab! an awesome turkish cuisine - it seems like we just ate ate and ate here lol
note to self (and others) Europe sleeper trains are generally not cool.
but we finally got to Munich for a 2 hour stop at 7am! but still a bit more towards Praha!
it was time to depart Berlin to Rome, getting ready for hopes of a white christmas (which turns out by the end of the day I had very little hopes of)
our airberlin flight. which got delayed by an hour, and this was spent seated on the plane on the tarmac..
Last full day in Berlin - sadly its decided to go all cloudy and foggy on us :(
you cant even see the TV tower which you can normally see from most places around Berlin!
yay gonna check out checkpoint charlie today. its the crossing point (or what used to be) of East and West Berlin at Friedrichstrasse.
what it used to look like
wow after a fairly big night out - we were sorta in full swing to start the day. we left at about 10am to pick up some breakfast, and then CS and I will split up - he is going to spend the day with his friend, and I get to meet MS who is on exchange right here in Berlin!
good breakfast to start the day
so our overnight train was delayed by 60 minutes. We both thought we overslept and missed Berlin, even though we were up 30min prior to supposed arrival in Berlin. turns out it was simply late in its travels by 60 minutes despite departing on time. but not to worry. Berlin!
early start for me - an early flight to London via Easyjet. Needed to factor in super early traffic to get there, not to mention peak hour. so i left for the airport super early, and I see the airport in darkness!
my U2 flight =P
